(1/28/07) American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division Releases "Choose Law: A Profession for All"
Each year the American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division develops and promotes public service projects, which often assist educators and students. This year the Division has developed an exciting new project entitled "Choose Law: A Profession for All." Through a flashy written guide, a website, and an 8 minute video, the Choose Law project educates high school students of color about the importance of attorneys and the legal system, about the importance of diversity within the profession, and about how they can become attorneys. Choose Law can be implemented by attorneys, educators, counselors, or a variety of individuals or groups and may be used as a stand-alone project or as a new component to an existing project, such as career day. To obtain further information or to download or order the video and written guide free of charge go to www.abayld.org/chooselaw. Otherwise, please feel free to call or email either of the coordinators of this project, Rita Diaz (626-796-9123; rdiaz@abanet.org) or Phenise Poole (513-534-6970; (phenisepoole@abanet.org), if you have any questions.
